Silver Slipper Rundown

This weekend’s Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes, at Rosehill, is the first Golden Slipper ballot exempt lead up race (see here for more information). With the star stable website now open for the autumn carnival we can check these horses out.

Of the seven runners we have five that are priced at $100K (Defcon, Astern, Pittsburgh, Mount Panarama & Rather Sweet) and two currently not in the system (King of War & Rafha’s Choice).

Hopefully Astern shows more of the form we glimpsed when he mustered a huge turn of foot in the final straight at Randwick to win the Surf Meets Turf 2.y.o Plate (1000m) on December 5th by close to three lengths.
